NEWS 
- The New York State Office of Mental Health implemented a hybrid interoperability framework using HL7’s FHIR standard to address challenges in semantic data exchange. This framework incorporates terminology mapping, metadata tagging, and consent controls. The initiative contributed to a 10% improvement in data collection within six months. Read More
- SNOMED International and its members announced the expansion of the Global Patient Set (GPS). Designed without SNOMED CT’s full semantic structure, the GPS provides an open and freely available collection of terms from the SNOMED CT International Edition to support accurate data exchange. - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) launched a new platform, FDA Adverse Event Monitoring System (AEMS), for the analysis of adverse event reports. The AEMS enables the display of adverse event reports submitted to the FDA for drugs, biologics, vaccines, cosmetics, and animal food in a single streamlined dashboard. The platform will comprise real-time adverse event reports for all FDA-regulated products by the end of May 2026. Read More
- A new scientometric analysis reveals that the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD), run by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), has supported approximately 3,800 peer-reviewed studies across 29 countries since 1988. As a not-for-profit government research service, the CPRD offers anonymized patient data from general practitioner (GP) practices across the UK. Read More
