• The World Health Organization (WHO) released the 2026 edition of ICD-11 (International Classification of Diseases, 11th Revision). This release involves refined clinical content, expanded extension codes, updated mortality rule base, and new data-quality validation framework. Read More 

• The UK government published its National Cancer Plan, emphasizing that every cancer patient will receive individual support. This plan also highlights the importance of real-time health data, predictive analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI). According to the strategy, the government aims to improve cancer care through data, AI, digital therapeutics, and the NHS App. Read More 

• New Zealand’s Health Minister announced that AI is being explored to support breast screening services and improve early detection for women. This initiative aims to help radiologists manage growing demand, reduce workload pressures, and maintain strong clinical oversight. As part of this effort, organizations with AI image reading experience are invited to propose how AI tools could be safely integrated into Breast Screen Aotearoa. Read More 

• The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) launched a virtual reality (VR) platform across public health labs to strengthen preparedness for the surveillance of influenza and other pathogens with epidemic potential. This 3D platform simulates a molecular biology laboratory, allowing the exploration of lab equipment, biosafety standards, diagnostic algorithms, and so on. Read More
