NEWS 
- The World Health Organization (WHO) selected the University College London (UCL) Centre for Digital Public Health in Emergencies as the first WHO Collaborating Centre focusing specifically on digital public health for pandemic preparedness. This designation will improve cooperation on the use of digital tools and data to prevent, detect, and respond to health emergencies. Read More
- The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) launched the new Federal Electronic Health Record (EHR) system at four hospitals in Michigan. Through this system, veterans in Michigan can transfer military health records among VA, Department of War, and other federal partners seamlessly. VA plans 13 deployments in 2026, aiming to establish a more connected, efficient, and patient-centered experience across all VA facilities. Read More
- The WHO/Europe published a new report assessing artificial intelligence (AI) use in healthcare across the 27 European Union (EU) Member States. According to this report, most countries use AI tools in clinical settings, especially in diagnostics and patient engagement. The report highlights directions in strategic planning, regulatory alignment, capacity-building, and the responsible deployment of AI in healthcare. Read More
- The Allan Labor Government announced the expansion of the Victorian Virtual Hospital pilot. This initiative includes virtual wards, regional support services, and virtual foetal medicine, supporting effective at-home care and improving healthcare access. Since December, the program has already enabled safe treatment for over 260 patients and saved more than 1000 hospital bed days. Read More
